Specialised flat roof aggregates can help to protect flat roofing membranes from ultra-violet rays of the sun which cause deterioration and provide a protective layer for light traffic. Aggregates can also be used to weigh down the insulation on inverted roof designs. By laying fair coloured aggregates on the membrane, heat absorption is controlled. They can also provide a decorative area bringing the flat roof area into a usable environment for inhabitants to relax and enjoy.
To provide a reasonable embedment and interlocking opaque surface, stone sized approximately 10mm-20mm are suitable. Low porosity materials prevent water absorption, which can result in frosted slippery surfaces. Larger cobbles 50-75mm can also provide an effective and visually attractive solution.
Brett offer guidance and technical support for inverted garden roofing designs and work in partnership with contractors to assist with application. Contact our knowledgeable team on 0845 6080 572 or email [email protected]
Flat roof aggregates are available in mini bags, bulks bags and loose loads.
Brett offers a wide range of specialist screed flooring aggregates, used in a variety of applications and challenging environments including industrial, pharmaceutical, food processing, leisure industry, automotive, aeronautical and commercial arenas.
Colour, texture and slip resistance are just a few of the inherent qualities that these aggregates bring to screed floors. A selection of Flint sizes can be used as fillers to optimise and enhance product formulations. Materials can be coated to a specific pantone colour as well as the grading and texture being adapted to suit the requirements of the design parameters. Terrazzo flooring is a combination of dried aggregate and portland or epoxy-based binders. The wearing layer has an increased percentage of aggregate which is then honed to provide the finish required. Brett Specialized Aggregates offer a range of terrazzo flooring materials which, as part of a system, can offer an attractive and a durable hardwearing surface.
Depending upon the binder system used, our materials can be tough enough for use in high trafficked commercial and industrial environments and provide great resiliency, chemical resistance and compressive strength.
Areas of possible applications for these types of system include indoor surfaces in private or public commercial, business and recreational areas such as exhibition halls, conference centres, airports, restaurants, malls, hotels, shops, schools, offices and many more. .
The core range of terrazzo flooring aggregates is available in a variety of grades:
- Green, Silver or Black Granite (10, 14, 20)
- White Marble (14)
- Denbighshire Spar (8)

Dried Aggregates are used within a resin bound system, often to provide a cost effective, hard wearing method of re-coating outdoor spaces and porous areas around tree pits. Brett supply a range of specialised aggregates which are used as component part of Resin Bound Gravel Surfacing. These materials are usually encapsulated within a proprietary resin obtained and installed by the contractor.
Our dried materials are used to provide a range of qualities including colour, slip and wear resistance and texture to outdoor areas such as around public buildings, cycle routes, pedestrian areas, footbridges, driveways and courtyards.
Resin bound gravel is an attractive and low maintenance alternative to Block and Flag Paving. The versatility of the surfacing technique means it can be applied to many different substrates, including concrete, wood or steel depending on the type of aggregate used.

Self Binding Gravel is regularly selected when seeking to install a surface which will bind together forming a compacted gravel path which is less susceptible to spreading, resulting in a neat golden finish. Providing these materials are installed correctly they will provide a low maintenance construction and provide a natural appearance, blending in with both contemporary and traditional surroundings.
