Permeable Chippings

Permeable chippings are designed to allow water to pass between the blocks in a permeable pavement. The specification of these chippings is essential to ensure that they do not significantly impeding water run-off passing into the sub-base below.

The correct specification of these 2–6.3mm chippings applies to both the laying course as well as the jointing material to ensure that they lock between the individual blocks and well as into the underlying sub-base layer. In this way they are able to provide a strong and durable pavement structure.

These aggregates have been specifically developed for use in permeable pavements and comply with the requirements laid out in the British Standards (BS 7533:13) and Interpave guidance documents.
